Presentation: Bottle of 20ml.

Introduction:
Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. The condition can be self-limiting or can progress to fibrosis (scarring), cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis viruses are the most common cause of hepatitis but other infections, toxic substances (e.g. alcohol, certain drugs), and autoimmune diseases can also cause hepatitis.
There are many causes of hepatitis. Viral hepatitis is caused by a virus. Viral hepatitis can either be acute (lasting less than 6 months) or chronic (lasting more than 6 months). Viral hepatitis can be spread from person to person.
The most common symptoms of hepatitis include:
- Dark urine
- Stomach pain
- Yellow skin called jaundice
- Pale or clay-colored stool
- Low-grade fever
- Loss of appetite
Gallstones:
Gallstones are stones or lumps that develop in the gallbladder or bile duct when certain substances harden.
Gallbladder is a small sac located on the right side of the body, or beneath of the liver. Some of the chemicals that exist in the gallbladder can solidify into either one large stone or several small ones.
Causes:
Possible causes of gallstones are:
- Bile contains excess cholesterol.
- Bile contains excess bilirubin.
- Gallbladder doesn’t empty correctly.
Symptoms include:
- pain on the right side of the body, just below the ribs
- back pain between the shoulder blades
- pain in the right shoulder
- nausea
- vomiting
- sweating
- restlessness
Indications:
Masood’s HR 17 has beneficial effects on efficiency of gallbladder. It is affective in jaundice, enlargement of liver, cirrhosis of liver, hypo or hyper production of liver, weakness of liver functions, biliary colic, cholecystitis and cholelithiasis.
Pharmacology:
HR 17contains Cardus Mar (thistles) may protect the cells of the liver by blocking the entrance of harmful toxins and helping remove these toxins from liver cells. Thistle is a powerful antioxidant which works to maintain health and energy by protecting the body from damage caused by free radicals and lipid peroxidation, which can injure healthy cells and tissues.HR 17 also has hepatoprotective action against carbon tetrachloride-induced liver damage. HR 17 shows significant reduction of tumor incidence in the liver of carcinogen, it may be used in complementary and alternative use against hepatotoxicity. Moreover HR 17 contains Nux Vomica in which the alkaloids, Strychnine and Brucine, have stimulant action on the gastro-intestinal tract. It is much used as a gastric tonic in dyspepsia. HR 17 contains Lycopodium clavatum in which alkaloids lycopdine and dihydrolycopodine has a potent analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antioxidant, antipruritic, antispasmodic, carminative, decongestant, demulcent, diuretic, and emmenagogue effects. Hr 17 relieves chronic pain state that usually is accompanied by tissue injury, red sand in urine, backache, in renal region, worse before urination, Pain in back before urinating, Retention. Polyuria during the night, and Heavy red sediment.

- Cardus Mar 1D 13% v/v
- Chelidonium Maj 1D 13% v/v
- Colocynthis 6D 20% v/v
- Lycopodium clav 4D 20% v/v
- Nux vomica 4D 30% v/v

Formula with properties:
Cardus mar 1D: pain in left side of stomach, near spleen Gallstone disease with enlarged liver. Pain in region of liver. Left lobe very sensitive. Fullness and soreness, with moist skin. Constipation; stools hard, difficult, knotty; alternates with diarrhea. Stools bright yellow. Swelling of gall bladder with painful tenderness. Hyperemia of liver, with jaundice. Cirrhosis, with dropsy.
Chelidonium maj 1D: Jaundice due to hepatic and gall-bladder obstruction. Gall-colic. Distention. Fermentation and sluggish bowels. Constriction across, as by a string. Liver enlarged. Gallstones. The jaundiced skin, and especially the constant pain under inferior angle of right scapula, are certain indications.
Colocynthis 6D: Cutting pain in abdomen causing patient to end over double, and pressing on the abdomen. Sensation as if stones were being ground together in the abdomen, and would burst. Colic with cramps in calves.
Lycopodium clav 4D: Abdomen is bloated, full. Constant sense of fermentation in abdomen, like yeast working; upper left side. Liver sensitive. Brown spots on abdomen. Dropsy, due to hepatic disease. Hepatitis, atrophic from of nutmeg liver. Pain shooting across lower abdomen from right to left.
Nux vomica 4D: Bruised soreness of abdominal walls. Liver engorged, with stitches and soreness. Colic, with upward pressure, causing short breath, and desire for stool. Weakness of abdominal ring region. Diarrhea, with jaundice.
